A Prayer for Catechists

O God, our Heavenly Father, you have given us the gift of these catechists to be heralds of the Gospel to our parish family.

We lift them up to you in thanksgiving and intercede for them concerning their hopes and needs. May we be attentive to the presence of your Word in them, a Word that lifts up and affirms, calls forth and challenges, is compassionate and consoles. We pray that our parish family will always be blessed with those who have responded to the call to share in Christ’s prophetic mission as catechists. May we too be open to the universal call to service that Christ addresses to all of his disciples, contributing our gifts to the communion of faith, the Church. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen

Our Lady of Lourdes Altar and Rosary is requesting donations of kitchen towels, either flour sack or terry cloth and also dish clothes to replace the ones that have disappeared from the kitchen.  We are very short on these items.  Please bring your donation to the church soon as the kitchen is in need.

You will also learn what all the mysterious figures and images of Revelation and what is happening now in salvation history.  Come join us!!!

PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS: Gentle God, You call us by name and lead us to life. Through baptism you commission us to proclaim the Good News. Bless and strengthen all men and women, lay and ordained, who serve in the Church.  Guide and give wisdom to those discerning their vocation.  Enrich our Church with dedicated married and single people, with priests, religious and deacons.  Filled with joy and your Holy Spirit may we follow Jesus, our Good Shepherd, now and always. Amen.

all-parish prayer line

Holy Family and Our Lady of Lourdes are beginning an all-parish prayer line.  Through a chain of phone calls, one family will contact the next family until everyone has been notified.  Each family will then pray for the special need sometime before the end of the day.  What will the need be?  It could be sickness, car accident, death bed, and etc.  These are all serous needs.  What do we pray?  A Rosary, if possible, is the first request because of the seriousness.  You may include this intention in your family  Rosary that night.  To be a part of this wonderful chain, please sign up in the back of your church.  If you have any questions, please contact for Holy Family, Mary Jane Vodicka at 303-732-9355 or for Our Lady of Lourdes, Inez Baltazar at 970-483-6535.

Rosary Prayer group – You are invited to come each Monday morning at 7:45 AM to pray the Rosary as a group at Our Lady of Lourdes.

The Legion of Mary has a prison ministry outreach.  They are in need of volunteers to remove the staples from booklets and magazines and then sew the binding with needle and upholstery thread so that they may be used at the prisons. Eastern Plains Catholic Parish Outreach (EPCPO), organized in 2002 to assist stranded travelers has, over the years, helped many stranded families with car repairs, fuel, food lodging and bus tickets home. Due to the generosity of parishioners from Holy Family, Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Lourdes, EPCPO was able to expand its outreach efforts to include assisting people in need in other areas within our own communities.  For example, EPCPO has helped local families with propane, electric bills, rent, and on a limited basis, prescription medications through Keene Clinic and Dales Pharmacy in Ft. Lupton.

Our Lady of Lourdes Knights of Columbus will be meeting each 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:30 PM.

Did you know that you and your family can give to the Lord a very special gift each Sunday at Mass? If you and your family would like to bring up the offertory gifts of bread and wine at Sunday Mass, please sign up at the back of the church on the form provided or contact Karla Huston for more information. What you bring to the Lord each Sunday as bread and wine, the work of human hands, is transformed by God's Spirit into the sacred Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Imagine just what you will be giving the Lord each week! What a blessing! Fr. Frank

Respect Life Words of Life …...Divorce and abortion are, of course, different choices, at times made in difficult and dramatic circumstances. They often give rise to traumas and are a source of profound suffering for the people who make them. ... They leave wounds that mark life indelibly. The Church has the primary duty to approach [such] people with love and delicacy, with kindness and maternal concern, in order to announce the merciful closeness of God and Jesus Christ. ... Yes, the gospel of love and of life is also always the gospel of mercy.

Priests of the Archdiocese of Denver make a radical choice to follow Jesus' call to be His servant-leaders. Their lives of joyful sacrifice bring to the people of northern Colorado the message of Jesus Christ that: I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live! (John 11:25). A priest is empowered by Christ to overcome death, sin, and despair with the message of life, forgiveness, and hope that is the core of the Gospel
